What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Designer position at Actalent?
Overview:
We are seeking an Electrical Drafter/Designer to support our client on a multi-year contract opportunity in Norfolk, VA.
Description:
- Responsible for design drawing and coordinating with the engineers to ensure drawings are properly done.
- Create and modify Construction Utility end Electrical shop drawings with AutoCAD application. This includes conduit, supports, anchors, cables, trenching, etc.
- Drawings shall follow construction US/VA applicable standards: Electrical NEC Code, Construction VDOT ( Virginia Department Of Transportation) standard.
- The electrical CAD technician will also assist with weekly planning and create monthly progress reports.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma. (AS Degree preferred)
- 2 years of relevant experience.
- AutoCAD 2D and 3D experience.
- Desirable: CAD experience on roadway Intelligent Traffic System (ITS) projects.
Additional Information:
- Long term contract, 3-4 years.
- Pay Rate: $30-$45/hr based on experience. (*More experience and/or BS in Engineering and pay rate can go up)
