What are the responsibilities and job description for the Embedded Software Engineer position at Actalent?
Description:
This individual will be working on middleware in an Agile scrum environment. They have two week cadence sprint cycles. There are multiple teams and this person would have interaction with those other teams. This person would be getting input from the systems architects, they'd do functional spec, design, break the work up into smaller stories and then use unit testing (currently they use the google test framework) to test their code. They've built a gateway product and it's designed to work with other products which are also in development. They'll be working on a feature that spans the gateway and the devices they're talking to. This person will have to look at the requirements, sometimes those requirements aren't clear. The person who they hire might need to write some of those requirements to document what is wanted and needed.
MUST HAVE:
- 5 years of experience
- Experience working in a Linux environment
- Experience working in C/ C
- Experience working in embedded, microcontroller environment
- Experience working with communication protocols: ethernet, can, etc.
- Experience working with APIs
- Understanding of how to debug on an embedded target
NICE TO HAVE:
- IEEE protocols
- power electronics experience
