Job Title: Distribution Engineer

Job Description

We are currently seeking Entry Level Distribution Engineers to join our Florida-based team. The successful candidate will support power distribution infrastructure upgrades and storm hardening projects across Florida. The initial projects are in support of Duke Energy, with future projects planned with FP&L, TECO, and other utilities. The role involves engineering calculations and design for replacing deteriorating cable, moving overhead lines to underground, reconductoring of existing distribution lines, and replacing aging poles. These projects involve complex calculations such as structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, fault currents, and coordination of protective devices.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Maitland, Florida.

Work Environment

Our work is performed at our Maitland office. We are a collaborative team, offering extensive On-The-Job Training especially to our Entry Level individuals. Our office is comprised of about 40-50 Engineers and Designers, about 20 are active consultants and many others that have converted. Our team is led by experienced professionals including our Regional Practice Lead and FL Distribution Practice Lead. We also have dedicated Project Managers.
