What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry Level Structural Engineer position at Actalent?
We are looking for entry-level Structural Engineers who have a minimum of 1-year experience (internship included) to work for one of New Jersey's best Forensic Engineering Firms! We are looking for someone who is career minded and looking to take the first step in their career!!
This position is for a Jr Engineer/Architect with 0 - 5 years of experience with a discipline in either Mechanical or Structural engineering (structural preferred). In this role, this person would be responsible for:
- 30% - 40% of the time spent drafting using AutoCAD
- Traveling to job sites across New Jersey
- Work under the direction of a Project Manager
- Conduct site surveys and inspections; Go on-site walk-throughs with Project Engineers and Inspectors to determine how drawings should be drafted
- Report writing
- Work with engineers to develop repair plans and specifications
- Work under and alongside Professional Engineers and Licensed Architects to build cases against contractors being sued.
- Take drawings from original plans used by clients and use AutoCAD to draft/design drawings to make repairs for future construction
MUST HAVES:
- Engineering Degree - structural or civil
- Strong Written and verbal Communication
- AutoCAD- redline and drafting. Must have a minimum of internship experience.
Nice to Have:
- Site Analysis Report Writing
- Building related engineering
- Ability to communicate with clients independently
