Description:
The successful candidate should have a strong working knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, embedded system architecture, schematic capture with PCB CAD tools, FPGA and CPLD logic design, and be eager to learn about new technologies in the world of embedded electronics.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Design, verify, and document systems and components for rugged handheld electronics, from concept through production.
• Capture customer requirements and define hardware solutions, and test and verification plans to meet customer specifications.
• Use CAD tools for schematic capture. Perform timing and signal integrity simulation.
• Create net rules and routing constraints, and work with the placement and layout engineers to create PCB fabrication files.
• Design and simulate digital logic for programmable logic devices, (FPGA, CPLD) utilizing vendor supplied software tools.
• Evaluate, select, and create models for electronic components to meet project requirements.
• Test and validate developed hardware, and participate in production testing, safety, EMC, and MIL-Spec certification.
• Interface with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, software, systems, supply chain, sales) to manage electronic design and manufacturing tradeoffs.

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in EE or related technical field
• 1 year in related electronic circuit design experience
• Experience with PCB CAD tools
• Familiarity with a variety of test bench equipment
• Strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Eligibility to work on ITAR projects
Desired Qualifications:
• Familiarity with:
o Xpedition, Altium CAD tools
o Keysight ADS simulation tools
o FPGA development tools and Verilog or VHDL
o ARM and x86 microprocessor and microcontroller designs
• Design verification, testing and documentation
