Industrial Engineer

Job Description

The Industrial Engineer I is a problem-solver, facilitator, change agent, innovator, resource, designer, and project manager. Responsible for performing these functions on issues as they are assigned (or arise) in the designated area. This person is responsible for driving manufacturing initiatives, including Process Flows, Value Stream Mapping, 5S methodologies, and evaluation of large data sets. Their objective will be providing new, more streamlined processes and efficiencies for the plant.

This is a fully on-site position in Omaha, Nebraska.

Work Environment

Our client is a very large manufacturing facility - almost 500k square feet. They manufacture a lot of sheet metal to produce shelving units - the ones that you would see in Walmart or Target. It's a bit of an older building, with quite a bit of older equipment. It's a bit noisy due to the amount of fabrication and manufacturing lines producing the units. Office spaces are located at the top of the manufacturing floor to have easy access to get to the lines or get back to the office for meetings or any desk work. The Engineers will primarily spend their time out on the floor though, working alongside production support and working on their projects.
