Description
In this position of Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer within the Protection & Controls Applications group, this individual will be responsible for the following:
- Provide short-circuit analysis, breaker-duty study results, and protection requirements to interconnect a customer-owned facility to a company-owned transmission system
- Create and update a short-circuit model using customer-provided facility data using Computer-Aided Protection Engineering (CAPE) software
- Specify protection schemes and relays at company-owned facilities and the point of interconnection, and review schemes based on transmission stability requirements
- Effectively communicate study results and protection requirements to interconnection customers and internal partners
- Actively engage in meetings with other organizations to provide technical expertise to customers and peer partners
Additional Skills & Qualifications
BS within Electrical Engineering (or related field of studies)
-Any experience within school from a protection and controls background
-Understanding or some involvement with Relay settings, studies, and/or interconnection reads
-Coursework within Power Studies/Systems or related subjects to Utilities/ Transmission would be considered a plus
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $42.00/hr.
