Job Title: Job Captain
Job Description
This role will lead site visits and site surveys, ensuring accurate communication of project needs and site survey details. The Job Captain will primarily use Revit software to perform design tasks and must be familiar with all project phases through to construction administration.
Responsibilities
- Lead site visits and site surveys
- Communicate project needs and site survey details accurately
- Manage construction documents (CDs) and ensure their accuracy
- Communicate updates and project detail changes to vendors, clients, and team members
- Perform redlines and markups on projects and drawings
- Develop solutions for projects in compliance with California Code (CA Code)
- Move projects through various phases using Revit software
- Design and be hands-on with projects, spending approximately 70% of time on design tasks
Essential Skills
- Expertise in Revit software
- Familiarity with all project phases through construction administration
- Experience with construction documents (CDs)
- Knowledge of California Code (CA Code)
- Ability to perform site surveys
- Strong communication skills for updates and project detail changes
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in workplace design and layout
- Healthcare and corporate tenant improvement (TI) design experience (preferred)
- Ability to voice opinions and suggest changes on projects or designs
- Push for licensing and license renewal with costs covered by the firm

Work Environment
The office is newly renovated and still expanding. The role offers a hybrid working schedule with Mondays and Fridays as work-from-home days. The firm maintains a steady flow of work, ensuring teams stay busy. The environment is highly collaborative, valuing input on projects from all designers.
