Job Description
Our client is one of the world’s largest agricultural processors and food ingredient providers. Their products are made for food, animal feed, industrial and energy uses. Seeking a Lab Tech who will be responsible to work independently and will run the lab with the lab manager when they're available.
They use a lot of industry specific instrumentation that will make this a great opportunity to gain specialized lab experience, grow with a leading organization, and leadership opportunities long-term.
This Lab Technician will be working with the quality team to perform laboratory analysis and QA/QC checks required for refinery analysis.
The job responsibilities will be as follows:
- Conduct laboratory tests and analyze data for a variety of purposes, such as production, pollution control, quality control, and minor research
- Test and analyze products, such as feed, beverage, and industrial alcohol, to determine if the product meets plant specifications prior to release
- Release in-spec vessels and report out-of-spec vessels
- Test and analyze production samples, such as fermenters, beer stills, rectifiers, etc., and report uncharacteristic results
- Document results of tests, readings, etc. in logbooks and in TLC (Total Lab Client)
- Complete certificates of analysis
- Prepare chemical solutions for use in the lab
- Maintain and calibrate all lab equipment and related field instrumentation
- Maintain awareness and adhere to all FDA, GMP, TTB, USP, EPA, OSHA and employer standards and guidelines

Work Environment
The lab is small and fast-paced, with a total of four lab technicians. Instrumentation includes NIR, pH meters, ovens, and other industry-specific equipment. The work environment is very hands-on, and there are opportunities for long-term growth and potential leadership roles as the current lab manager approaches retirement.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.75/hr.
