Description:
Position Purpose:
This position is responsible for all aspects of animal care and ascites production, including the daily tasks of tapping, injection, cage changing and cleaning, nursery information, and understanding regulated requirements such as ISO 13485 and EC142/2011.
Responsibilities Include:
• Complete goals and projects as assigned in a timely fashion.
• Demonstrate a good understanding of ascites production activities (priming, collecting, etc.) by performing related tasks with minimal supervision.
• Changing cages and monitoring animals to ensure their well-being.
• Supplying the animals with food and water on a regular schedule.
• Assist with interdepartmental needs to ensure continued smooth operations.
• Maintain effective and professional communication and working relationships with company personnel.
• Other misc. Tasks assigned by supervisor.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Follow the company’s quality policy in all daily activities.
• Monitor regulatory compliance regulations making sure all areas are kept in compliance.
• Perform all duties utilizing ISO 13485 guidelines.
• Scraping of dirty cages and stationing them for washing.
• Loading the cage washer with scraped cages and running them through the cycle. When necessary, handling manual washing of scraped cages
• Work occasional weekend and overtime hours as necessary.

• Ability to read, understand, and follow all company production procedures, SOPs, and guidelines.
• Must be self-starter, detailed oriented, organized, and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality requirements.
• Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent required. No experience is necessary.
• Use of the English Language, to include reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension. Ability
to work independently or with others. Ability to respond to common inquiries.
