Lab Technician
Actalent is looking for a lab technician to support our client in a leading healthcare lab on-site in Portland. We are hiring for multiple positions from entry-level to experienced.

Description:
Prepare reagents, solutions, and stains for use in laboratory testing.
Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing by aliquoting (process of distributing one source liquid (sample or reagent) to many destination wells (well-plate) using either single-channel or multi-channel pipettes.
Determine the acceptability of specimens (has temp been controlled correctly, has specimen soiled/separated, adequate sample size needed for testing, etc.)
Operate and troubleshoot lab tools/instruments/machinery (including pipettes, well-plates, centrifuges, etc.)
Report accurate and timely test results.
Document all testing, results, and analysis accurately.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
Assist with processing of specimens when needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelors’ degree in a life science or laboratory science/Medical Technology.
Previous experience in a clinical/diagnostic lab (working with/running assays using human samples - blood, saliva, urine, etc.)
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Strong work ethic with drive/motivation to hit performance metrics/numbers.
Strong data entry and organizational skills.
Coachable and ability to take and initiate feedback well.
High level of attention to detail.
Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
Positive, hardworking, takes initiative, and works well with others.
Proven reliability and positive attendance.
