What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Technician position at Actalent?
Exciting opportunity to get into the distillery industry!
One of the top distilleries in Kentucky is looking to add a Lab Technician to their team. The day-to-day job duties of this position include:
- Conduct routine sample preparation, instrumentation analysis, data entry, routine reporting and distribution.
- Perform quality tests on proof, color, clarity, solids, package quality and organoleptic evaluations. Record and report results.
- Perform analysis on warehouse, processing, and bottling house samples.
- Perform filled case, import, and export product inspections.
- Perform necessary QC procedures and reporting in both Manufacturing and Water/Wastewater areas.
- Set up Taste Panel and other organoleptic analyses.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong background in college-level science labs coupled with Chemistry degree is acceptable substitute.
- Working knowledge of basic laboratory techniques and practices.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of computer systems, especially the Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- SAP, HACCP, and ISO or Continuous Improvement experience preferred.
- Must successfully pass a lab safety exam after training.
- Must be willing and able to taste beverages containing alcohol.
