Hiring a Laboratory Technician to join a fast-growing, viticulture organization in Acampo, CA.
Job Description
- Review bottling schedule and conduct QC Lab activities and analysis, including but not limited to label compliance review, lab analysis, ATP testing, bottling QC start-up, and hourly bottling QC checks.
- Review analysis for pre-bottling condition and issue work orders to make necessary adjustments to maintain health and desired style of wine when it is bottled (i.e. SO2, O2, CO2, etc.).
- Enter, verify, and report wine analysis and escalate issues to ensure adherence to specification parameters.
- Perform routine lab analysis on grapes, juice, must and wine, including but not limited to Brix, pH, TA, FSO2, RS.
- Record and report tank temperatures daily.
- Pull daily samples for analysis.
Qualifications
- Open to new gradudates with lab experience from academia
- Prior experience working in a lab environment required; 1 years’ experience in a wine production facility preferred.
- Knowledge of fundamentals of wine production, wine chemistry, lab analysis techniques, viticulture, grape varieties.
- Ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with others in a positive and professional manner.
- Willing to work weekends and overtime throughout the harvest season.
- Bachelors degree in Chemistry, biology, or microbiology OR experience in a food/beverage lab
