What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Drafter position at Actalent?
Actalent is currently hiring for a Mechanical Drafter/Designer in Kansas City. AutoCAD experience is required. Preferred candidates will have 3D modeling experience with Autodesk Inventor.
Description:
The AutoCAD Drafter creates computer generated sketches of complex projects.
- Use AutoCAD to create detailed 2D and 3D designs to complete drawing packages for complex projects.
- Works with other team members to set timelines, budgets and assist in making decisions regarding materials to be used to complete the project.
- Knowledge of HVAC industry, sheet metal, engineering, math, and materials is preferred.
- Proper use of industry components consisting of piping, tubing, fittings, skids design, process equipment and components.
- Convert redline markups generated by Lead Drafter or Engineers.
- Makes final sketches, checks dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole project.
- Create detail structural assemblies and create bill of materials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Associates degree or technical trade school in AutoCAD, drafting, or related field, OR 3 years of experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
