Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking an Optomechanical Engineer with a knack for creating assembly models, assembly drawings, bills of materials, and managing engineering changes. In this role, you will be heavily involved in the Design of Experiments, as well as engineering/design validation testing. Your responsibilities will also include executing tests and maintaining test records, creating tools and jigs to support Production, and translating marketing requirements into product requirements. A key part of your role will be ensuring product safety compliance, including CE & FDA laser safety, and managing the product development phase gate process through the full product life cycle. You will be customer-facing, working directly with our clients. Solidworks will be a tool you will use extensively, and you will also take on some project management tasks.

Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Durham, North Carolina.
Work Environment
In this role, you will be working on a 9/80 schedule, enjoying every other Friday off. While we offer flexibility in hours, the position requires full onsite presence. As a crucial liaison between design and operations, you will be working heavily with our operations team.
