We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies accurately and in a timely manner.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to services rendered.
- Review patient accounts for accuracy, ensuring all necessary documentation is included.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their billing inquiries, providing excellent phone etiquette.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize medical office management software, including EPIC, for billing and scheduling tasks.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies in billing or coding issues.
- Stay updated on changes in medical terminology and coding practices to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in medical billing or coding is preferred.
- Familiarity with phone systems and effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of medical scheduling processes within a hospital or clinical setting.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient information privacy.
- Proficiency in using medical office management software, particularly EPIC is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
