Job Title: Microbiologist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Microbiologist to carry out practical work in our laboratory, including method development, method validation, and troubleshooting. This role involves taking responsibility for the quality control (QC) aspects of projects, performing required testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products, and supporting QC chemists in technology transfer and project preparation to ensure smooth project execution.
Responsibilities
- Perform testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Test Methods.
- Record test results and maintain raw data and accurate laboratory records.
- Maintain lab assets in accordance with written procedures and schedules as required by cGMP, GLP, and other applicable standards.
- Write and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Approve or reject finished product samples.
- Provide general lab support, including housekeeping, equipment maintenance, and inventory of supplies.
- Evaluate existing analytical methods and develop new methods when appropriate.
- Support projects from the QC side in production or pilot-scale facilities.
- Transfer methods and conduct validation experiments.
- Train lab analysts on methods.
- Assist in the preparation work for projects.
- Support project chemists in out-of-specification (OOS) investigations.
- Provide technical support and answers during the analysis of production samples.
- Manage lab instruments and ensure their proper functioning.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure personal safety in the working area.
- Adhere to all defined Safety and Sustainability requirements and expectations, and seek clarification whenever needed.
- Promptly report any identified Safety and Sustainability issues, problems, deficiencies, errors, incidents, and opportunities to management and correct where possible.
- Stop work when necessary to maintain safety.
- Perform other laboratory support tasks as requested.
Essential Skills
- Experience in microbiology (2-5 years).
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Strong record-keeping and data management skills.
- Ability to develop and validate analytical methods.
- Experience with cGMP and GLP standards.
- Capability to work independently with little or no supervision.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in method transfer and validation.
- Technical support skills for production sample analysis.
- Ability to train and mentor lab analysts.
- Good understanding of safety protocols and sustainability practices.
Work Environment
The work environment is a laboratory setting, operating Monday through Friday on the first shift. The role involves working with lab equipment and adhering to safety protocols to ensure a safe working area.
