What are the responsibilities and job description for the Microbiology Laboratory Technician position at Actalent?
Job Description:
- Performs Bioburden testing on Med Device products and supports Micro team
- Media preparation and sterilization utilizing aseptic technique during sample preparation.
- Recognizes malfunctions in laboratory equipment and either notifies management or performs simple repairs.
- Perform preventative maintenance and laboratory housekeeping.
- Follow all procedures related to data documentation, laboratory safety, and good laboratory practices.
- Will train on USP 61 and USP 62
- May train on LAL testing and other Micro techniques
Work Environment
- Current Bio department has about 20 people on the team.
- Labs are separated and don't flow as well, but works closely with the R&D and Chemistry labs.
- Very clean environment.
