What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Engineer/Hydrogeologist/Geologist position at Actalent?
This position provides an opportunity for a Geoscience Engineer, Hydrogeologist, or Geologist to join a reputable, industry-leading engineering consulting firm where their professional goals can be achieved.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist project and experienced level staff in the development of sampling plans, reports, designs, specifications, and analysis required for projects (Phase I Environmental Site Assessments; soil, groundwater, sediment, and vapor sampling projects
- Timely communication of scope and/or schedule changes to project level or experienced staff
- Efficient time utilization
- Effective prioritization of tasks and responsibilities
- Soil, groundwater, vapor, and sediment sample collection
- Execution of field activities/data collection in accordance with SOPs and QAPPs
- Preparation of written reports and requisite correspondence
- Assist with the utilization of professional services technologies including computer-based software
- Develop and maintain familiarity with current federal and state regulations and guidance
- Assist in the development of new policies and procedures
- Evaluate field results and write technical reports with recommendations
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Engineering, or Geology
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE) or Geologist in Training Exam (G.I.T)
- Experience using Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office
- Accountability for quality of work, project scope, schedule, and budget
- Effective communication – both oral and written
- Active problem-solving skills
- Highly motivated, proactive, intellectually curious, and willing to take on new challenges
