What are the responsibilities and job description for the Structural Engineer position at Actalent?
Description:
International engineering firm looking to add a structural engineer with at least 5 years of applicable experience to support engineering and design of USACE infrastructure projects. Team primarily supports large moveable structures such locks, spillways, dam and reservoir projects. Professional Engineer license required. Candidate will need to be proficient in structural design and analysis, producing calculations, quality control, and partnering with engineers across disciplines.
Skills & Qualifications:
BS in civil/structural engineering required (master's degree preferred)
5 years of relevant structural engineering experience
Professional Engineer (PE) certification required
Experience with current structural design methods, codes and standards
Experience with structural concrete and steel design
Experience developing structural drawings
Experience with tools such as SAP2000, SAFE, LPILE GROUP
Working knowledge of BIM, and/or CAD software platforms
Working knowledge of 3D FEA structural analysis computer design tools
Demonstrated educational and relevant work experience showing strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
