Job Description: Tooling Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Tooling Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves managing new tooling projects, tool repairs, and improvements in collaboration with Tool Design Engineers and the Tool Shop. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in mechanical engineering and experience with plastic injection mold tool design and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Manage new tooling projects, tool repairs, and tool improvements.
• Work closely with Tool Design Engineers and the Tool Shop.
• Write requests for tooling quotes from vendors and format quote summaries for internal review.
• Ensure vendors adhere to budget and timing constraints on projects.
• Support internal CNC operators and programmers with tooling processes for manufacturing equipment.
• Support tooling throughout its lifespan, making design changes based on internal requirements or customer requests.
• Perform basic tooling design modifications using 3D CAD software (NX preferred).

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• 3 years of experience with plastic injection mold tool design and manufacturing.
• In-depth knowledge of injection molding principles and tooling debugging techniques.
• Proficient in CAD software (NX preferred but other 3D design software considered).
• Strong project management skills.
• Understanding of mold building, raw materials, equipment, and molding techniques.
• Ability to negotiate and understand technical and financial aspects of projects.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, IQMS, and Outlook.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to perform mold flow analysis is a plus.
• Experience with Solidworks, Creo, and drafting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/yr.

Company has an employee profit sharing program. Each employee gets certain amount of shares based on tenure in company. Eligible after 3 years.
