What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Lead Counselor position at Action Kids Summer Camp?
Our Day Lead Camp Counselors, ages 18 and up, serve as professional role models for our campers, leading by example and guiding campers through recreational activities that teach life skills, encourage healthy and safe behaviors that create a positive camper experience. Our Camp Staff work together as a team to facilitate the Action Kids Summer Camp Program, which runs from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, for children ages 4-14, in the NH Seacoast area.
End of Summer Bonus:
- Full time staff working week 9 or 10 will receive - $135 each week. $270 for both
- Part time staff working week 9 or 10 receive - $80 each week. $160 for both
both)
Referral Bonus:
- If someone you refer is hired, you will receive a $115 bonus
Job Duties:
- Lead counselors will be the head counselor in a camp group.
- Lead counselors will mentor and support younger counselors.
- Lead counselors are assigned to a camper group each day (8:1 ratio).
- Lead counselors ensure that each camper has adequate supervision, manage and facilitate transitions to scheduled activities, assist Activity Leaders with arts and crafts, nature, games, gymnastics and swim time.
- Lead counselors also assist with camp wide thematic programming that changes each week, participate in weekly all camp special events and perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements Applicants must have a genuine passion for working with and empowering children
- Applicants should be patient, fun loving and confident in their ability to motivate and assist campers in everything they do!
- 1-2 years of child care experience preferred.
- CPR/Basic First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention certification required (training is available).
- Creative thinking and Flexibility. Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to participate in potentially strenuous physical activity.
