Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Vice President of Communications to join our New York City office and play a senior leadership role at a fast-growing public affairs and strategic communications firm. This is a high-impact opportunity for a proven communications executive to lead complex client engagements, manage senior-level relationships, and help drive the firm’s continued growth.
The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in public relations, public affairs, and strategic communications, with a strong background advising organizations in highly regulated, politically sensitive, or reputationally complex environments.
Experience across business, government, healthcare, gaming, sports, and/or education is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as senior strategic counselor to executive leadership at major client organizations
- Lead integrated communications and public affairs campaigns, including media relations, crisis communications, issues management, and stakeholder engagement
- Develop and execute proactive media strategies across national, regional, and trade outlets
- Oversee account teams, providing senior-level guidance, mentorship, and quality control
- Manage and grow key client relationships; identify opportunities for expanded engagements
- Play a leadership role in new business development, including pitching, proposal development, and relationship building
- Collaborate with firm leadership to shape the agency’s growth strategy, service offerings, and culture
- Represent the firm externally with media, partners, and industry stakeholders
Qualifications
- Senior Experience in communications, public affairs, strategic communications, or related fields
- Senior-level experience at a public affairs firm, PR agency, government entity, major corporation, or advocacy organization
- Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following sectors: business, government, healthcare, gaming, education
- Strong media relationships and a track record of placing and managing high-profile coverage
- Proven experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder communications challenges
- Excellent writing, strategic thinking, and client leadership skills
- Experience managing teams and developing senior talent
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, growth-oriented environment
- Proficient with rapid response strategies
