Aculabs, an industry leader servicing long-term care homes across the Mid-Atlantic, is seeking Medical Laboratory Technicians. We are proudly family-owned and operated since 1972! Optimal candidates are self-starters willing to train with an experienced member of our team.
*Must have MLT or MT (Bachelor's in Microbiology/Biology is a plus).
Available Schedule: Full-Time
- Monday - Friday 12:00pm-830pm and alternating Saturday 10am-6:30pm
Weekend and Holiday Rotation is required.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Ensures all activities are conducted in accord with generally accepted laboratory procedures and patient data is obtained and maintained in accordance with all applicable HIPAA regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Adheres to good laboratory practices including the following:
- Instrument maintenance
- Supplies and reagent inventories
- Quality Control
- Monitors test analyses and examinations to ensure only acceptable levels of analytic performance are reported
- Monitors the status of daily patient testing including the following:
- Timeliness of patient testing including the following:
- Completion of all testing in accordance with accepted timetables
- Performs preventative maintence procedures per schedule and maintains records
- Adheres to established policies and procedures, reports to supervisor whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s defined levels of performance
- Ensures remedial action follows any deviation from established levels of performance
- Perform a variety of routine non-technical duties and assisting technical and professional personnel to conduct tests, determinations and experiments in clinical and research laboratories.
- Ensures results are reported after verification by the supervisor or his/her designee
- Checks for proper completion of all maintenance, quality control, and in-house workload documentation. Reports, documents and corrects errors if possible and proposes preventative actions to the General Supervisor.
- Identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and immediately notifies the department Supervisor General supervisor or Director.
- Is qualified under CLIA 1988 paragraph 493.1489, and performs high complexity testing under the supervision of a general supervisor qualified under CLIA 1988 paragraph 493.1461.
- Maintains excellent attendance to ensure responsibilities are met.
- Maintains technical currency through attendance at technical seminars, technical reading, and/or contact with peer group. Participates in regularly scheduled continuing education presentations.
- Participates in rotational assignments/department as directed by the laboratory management.
- Works in laboratory where position requires standing for extended periods of time and acute reading of testing instruments

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
