Summary
Responsible for passivation of stainless alloy aerospace components and chemical conversion coating of non-ferrous alloys. The Chemical Processing Technician will also be responsible for daily systems checks and chemical maintenance as well as room cleanliness and upkeep. This job requires technicians to ensure the proper safety techniques are always applied at all times. Work independently or with minimal direction from Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work from blueprints and follow routers, corrective actions and other forms of written, verbal, and visual instruction.
- Perform daily system checks/log and address as needed.
- Generates job specific certifications stating the job was completed per the applicable specifications.
- Scrutinize every facet of job and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to Supervisor.
- Perform housekeeping chores as department requirements dictate.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Key Roles
- Ability to locate information / interpret work instructions and validate product conformance.
- Knowledge of the chemicals used as well as proper usage and safety.
- Cares for parts in accordance with procedures (Corrosion Protection/Handling/ FOD)
- Work to standard and contributes to continuous improvement; communicates issues to team leader in a timely manner

Education & Experience Requirements:
Requires the use of acquired knowledge, mechanical aptitude, high school diploma or GED, and one to three years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form.
- Ability to perform the duties of the job applying basic mathematics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Proficient in chemistry and its applications
- Basic computing skills
Supervisory Responsibilities
