Position Summary:
This position generally works a regular weekday daytime shift and may require scheduled and non-scheduled work outside of normal working hours. This may include evenings, weekends, holidays, or other critical times in response to emergencies or at supervisor’s discretion. Works under the direct supervision from the Manager of Information Technology. Considerable independent judgment and initiative is required. Must be able to set schedules and complete work within approved timeframes. Work is reviewed through oral and written reports, discussion, and results obtained.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following duties are illustrative and not exhaustive. Depending on assigned area of responsibility, incumbents in the position may perform some or all of the activities described below.
- Performs duties of a technical nature to operate, assemble, maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, upgrade, replace and repair new and existing computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals (i.e.; monitors, facsimile machines, printers, copiers, etc.).
- Supports and maintains user account information including rights, security and systems groups by direct participation in support of each system and communication component of the various departments.
- Installs, maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots and supports various software programs and applications and reconfigures computer systems as necessary. Provides support to end users on a variety of issues.
- Responds to task request for technical, application or any other necessary assignments from the Project and Network Coordinator or IT Manager. Identifies, researches and completes the assignment then documents and reports information back as required to accomplish the task.
- Maintains and supports communication systems for various departments as required, including installing and maintaining Fiber, Cat 5, computer and telephone wiring as needed.
- Respond to on-call assistance and provide support as necessary after normal scheduled work hours.

Education and Experience:
- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience working within a technical environment.
- A combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted at the City Manager’s discretion.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license and must be insurable by the City’s current insurance provider.
- National Incident Management System (NIMS) training will be required according to the job duties and responsibilities within one (1) year of employment.
- Technical training certificate in Computer Technology, preferred.
