Medical Assistant

ACRMC is looking for 5 full-time and one part-time Medical Assistant with one full-time being at the Hospital and the rest at the ACRMC Family Medicine Clinics in West Union, Winchester, Georgetown and Mount Orab.

Summary: Cares for patients in the Hospital under direction of the nursing and the Medical Staff. Transcribes physician orders and performs general clerical duties by preparing, compiling and maintaining the medical record.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned.

· Compiles, organizes and prepares patient charts

· Answers the phone, greets and directs patients and visitors

· Relays messages appropriately and timely

· Organizes files and clerical supplies so they can be obtained readily

· Schedules appointments with appropriate physician at the appropriate time and reschedules as necessary

· Keys in charges daily

· Performs daily checks of refrigerator temp control and calls maintenance when temp is out of range

· Restocks as necessary by ordering from materials management and special orders when necessary

· Verifies correct clinic schedule; prints and distributes to appropriate departments

· Compiles all required information and saves all work

· Performs assessment and documents on flow sheet patient complaints to pain

· Notifies Dr. of persistent pain, changes in type, location and characteristic of pain and in effectiveness of pain regimen

· Validates and documents patient understanding of pain management regimen

· Calls medication in to pharmacy

· Documents current medication

· Faxes medication refill orders to physicians for approval

· Educates patients and families on pre and post visit instructions ; documents instructions

· Verbalizes understanding of the anatomy and physiology of sites used for injection techniques

· Demonstrates ability to draw up medication safely and checks expiration date and verifies dose

· Uses type patient identifiers to ensure correct patient receives the correct medication

· Administers injection using proper technique

· Uses safety device appropriately, and disposes of sharps in appropriate container

· Accurately records the procedure in the patients record

· Performs blood pressure monitoring

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.04 - $19.00 per hour
