What are the responsibilities and job description for the Athletic Trainer position at Addenbrooke Classical Academy?
Addenbrooke Classical Academy is looking for a certified athletic trainer for a full-time staff position for the 2024-2025 school year. They must have a bachelor’s degree in the field and a trainer certification. They are responsible for the organization, management, and development of the schools athletic training department.
Essential Functions
- Provide emergency care, injury evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of all athletes
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the training room
- Manage with the administrative responsibilities of budgeting, ordering, and inventory control
- Manage the development and implementation of the policies and procedures as related to the athletic training department
- Manage the coordination and tracking of all physical examinations
- Direct, teach and educate student athletic training classes
- Compile relevant statistical information for post injury strength testing and injury rates
- Oversee all home events and summer camp training responsibilities as designated
- Maintain a high degree of professionalism with staff and all athletes and parents
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables and situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form
- Ability to work with the public with tact and judgment
- Excellent organizational skills required
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to operate work related equipment, and effectively communicate verbally with the athletic director and employees of the school. The employee is required to be on their feet for extended periods of time throughout the day. The employee must be able to frequently move about the school with capability of transporting objects up to 50 pounds
- The employee works in a standard classroom and training room. Unexpected interruptions occur frequently and the stress level is moderate to high
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine
- 2 years experience in the field of athletic training at a high school or college
- NATABOC Certified, CPR/AED certification
- This individual must possess a knowledge specific to the field of athletic training
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- 3-5 years athletic training experience at the high school or college level
Working Environment
1. Standard high school environment. Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high3. Noise level is quiet to moderate
Work Schedule
12:00pm-8:00pm weekdays. Weekends, later evenings and early mornings during sport seasons as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $46,500.00 - $51,300.00 per year
