Olsten Staffing is assisting a well-established company in the Florence SC area in their search for a
- Steel Estimator trainee
- This company is the top-quality steel solution for a diverse range of construction and industrial projects. As a Steel Estimator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and competitiveness of our project bids. You will be responsible for analyzing project specifications, preparing cost estimates, and collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver precise and timely proposals.
Hours : Monday-Thursday
8AM-5PM
Friday
8AM - 3PM
Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for steel fabrication and erection projects.
Evaluate and quantify materials, labor, and overhead costs.
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to gather and clarify project requirements.
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors for accurate pricing and procurement.
Prepare and present detailed bid proposals to clients, including cost breakdowns and project timelines.
Monitor and analyze project costs to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, pricing, and regulations.
An understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. (Strongly Preferred)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy.
