JOB SUMMARY:


The Assistant or Associate Director of Admissions serves as a lead admissions officer responsible for first-year, transfer, and graduate student recruitment, admissions and enrollment. A contributor to defining recruitment strategy, the Assistant/Associate Director of Admissions is responsible for uncovering and building new markets, developing key relationships with strategic influencers, and expanding reputation and awareness.


SALARY INFORMATION:


In compliance with New York's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $64,350 - $70,000. Adelphi University considers factors such as departmental budgets, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. An annual base salary higher than the range may be warranted in circumstances where a candidate has demonstrable equivalent prior higher education experience at another University.

REPORTS TO: Director of Graduate Admissions


RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  1. Assess recruitment strategy by utilizing data and trend analysis and support development of strategic enrollment plans.
  2. Lead territory management among counseling staff and complete routine reports related to recruitment planning and territory management.
  3. Act as liaison with various campus partners and departments of assigned signature and special programs.
  4. Maintain and update the admissions counselor training manual and directly assist with the on-boarding of new counselors.
  5. Work collaboratively with directors on day-to-day operations of the Office of University Admissions.
  6. Recruit first-year, transfer, graduate and international students to Adelphi University by representing Adelphi at high school and community college visits, admissions events, presentations, and college fairs in assigned territories.
  7. Interview and counsel prospective students and families and relate effectively with diverse constituencies including students, faculty, and alumni.
  8. Read and evaluate admissions applications.
  9. Cultivate all prospects via tele-counseling, virtual tools, social media and personalized communication plans, including the development of communication strategies to cultivate and yield prospective students.
  10. Deliver information sessions and student-centered workshops to various audiences in person and virtually.
  11. Perform other job related duties as needed.


REQUIREMENTS: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)

  1. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  2. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  3. Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
  4. Ability to be organized and pay attention to detail.
  5. Ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, etc.
  6. Ability to work extended hours and weekends.
  7. Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to drive or travel to locations in recruiting areas.
  2. Ability to work extended hours and weekends.
  3. Ability to lift up to 10lbs.


EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's degree is required.
  2. Minimum of two years admissions or related experience is required.
  3. Minimum of two years CRM experience (Slate).


POSITION(S) SUPERVISED:

  1. Student Ambassadors.
  2. Admissions counselor(s), as needed.
