The candidate(s) selected will engage in a variety of counseling and prevention activities targeted at individuals and groups experiencing problems related to, or are at high risk for substance abuse.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record demonstrating the following:
- Ability to provide substance abuse counseling and education. Ability to communicate effectively with people experiencing anxiety, stress and depression. Knowledge of current substance abuse methods and techniques of individual and group counseling.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Conducts assessments and intakes to determine client problems and appropriate course of action. Orients clients on program requirements. Provides substance abuse counseling to individuals and groups. Conducts group education programs. Develops treatment / recovery plans and makes referrals to appropriate service providers. Maintains client case records and does technical client charting. Participates in meetings, staffing, and trainings. Prepares reports for other agencies as required. Monitors ongoing treatment. Develops aftercare plans. UA monitoring. Represents the organization to the community through outreach activities. Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Skills Minimum Requirements & Preferences:
· Valid SUDP or SUDPT License from the State of Washington required.
· Associates of Arts degree or higher specializing in Chemical Dependency Studies (or
currently in school) required.
· One year experience providing outpatient treatment to individuals with Substance Use Disorders (preferred)
· Computer skills required.
· Experience with Reliatrax preferred.
· Ability to clearly and accurately communicate with peers and external partners via
written and verbal communications required.
· Able to clearly communicate information to patients and gather information from
patients required.
· Mental health diagnosis (Co-occurring) and mental health experience preferred.
Conditions of Employment:
· Pass a criminal background, Office of Inspector General (OIG) and System for Award
Management (SAM) checks, and pre-employment drug screen.
· Individuals selected for this position may be required to work various shifts and/or
provide coverage at our rural office when needed.
· Must be 18 years of age or older.
· Note: ADEPT is a Drug Free Workplace in accordance with federal law and conducts pre-employment drug testing.
