Maintenance Technician

$25 - $30 / hour

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician at Cutting Edge will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities, including mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, bearings, electronics, and basic electrical systems.  The maintenance technician will also follow preventative maintenance procedures to facilitate our goal of minimizing unplanned machine downtime.  The role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our equipment and facilities.
 

Job Duties:

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of the facility to ensure safety and functionality including preventative maintenance activities.
• Perform PMs on equipment at scheduled intervals including grease, oil, and inspections.
• Order and manage critical machine spare parts, supplies, and other items needed to maintain production equipment.
• Utilize machine manuals, blueprints, and schematics to guide repair and maintenance activities.
• Document machine repairs and maintenance in the comprehensive maintenance software system.
• Complete other duties as assigned to support the maintenance team and facility operations.
• Clear and effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting on maintenance activities.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to complete assigned tasks.
  Basic understanding of safety protocols and procedures in maintenance work.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent
• Minimum 3 years in an industrial maintenance role
• Advanced mechanical aptitude, keen attention to detail, effective communication skills, and strong adherence to safety and quality standards.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong problem-solving / trouble shooting skills for diagnosing and repairing machine issues
• Competency in maintaining facility areas to ensure a safe and functional environment.
• Effective organization skills to plan and coordinate internal maintenance activities and to also work with outside vendors on maintenance items outside of our expertise.
• Clear and effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting on maintenance activities.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to complete assigned tasks.
  Basic understanding of safety protocols and procedures in maintenance work.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy materials, typically up to 50 pounds, regularly.
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the workday.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to handle small parts, operate tools, and perform tasks requiring precision.
• Occasionally climbing ladders or steps to access equipment.
• Good vision, with or without corrective lenses, to make machine repairs,
• Adequate hearing ability to communicate with team members and hear alarms or safety signals.
• Ability to maintain a steady work pace over long shifts, often in a fast-paced environment.

Salary : $25 - $30
