Job Title: Animal Research Technician
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (40 hrs/week); Weekend OT once/month
Job Summary:
seeking an Animal Research Technician to perform daily animal care and assist with scientific procedures in a research setting under Biosafety Level 1 & 2. The technician will support husbandry, health monitoring, sample collection, and documentation, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and internal protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide feed, water, and enrichment; clean and maintain animal facilities and equipment
- Conduct animal health assessments; administer treatments as directed
- Restrain animals for procedures; assist with sample collection and necropsies
- Maintain accurate records and follow all biosecurity and safety protocols
- May guide junior staff or serve on internal workgroups
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs; work in hot, cold, or humid environments
- No animal or dust allergies
- Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and willingness to learn
Preferred:
Experience in animal care, research, or veterinary settings
