Adirondack Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is a successful private practice with three locations in the Capital District region of New York State. Our skilled surgeons practice a full scope of procedures such as wisdom tooth extractions, dental implants, and bone grafts. We provide quality care and place a strong emphasis on developing lasting, trusted relationships with our patients.
As a key member of the surgical team, the Oral Surgery Assistant is directly responsible for:
- preparing patients for consultations and procedures
- obtaining and documenting patient medical histories
- educating patients in perioperative care
- operating radiologic equipment
- ensuring instruments and treatment areas remain sterile
A successful Oral Surgical Assistant is highly organized and attentive to patient needs. An outstanding OSA will have an excellent understanding of oral surgery procedures and exceptional hand-eye coordination. Useful skills for this position include the following, but We will train the right candidate for success!
- Familiarity with healthcare terminology – dental is a plus!
- Knowledge of oral surgery techniques and/or implant systems
- Software proficiency, specifically with Microsoft products, EMR and IM applications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Capacity to accept work directives and constructive criticism when learning new skills
- Reliability and punctuality is a must
AOMS proudly offers a competitive wage and generous benefit package. Starting pay is based on proven work experience. This is a full-time position that requires you to be on-site from 6:45am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. We have three office locations and surgical staff can expect to periodically travel between the two closest to where they reside.

Schedule:
