- Install, maintain and monitor all technical operating environments including data centers, cloud and office locations across the organization.
- Maintain and improve the performance and scalability of organization’s infrastructure
- Plan and execute projects related to infrastructure and corresponding security upgrades
- Review and improve site level infrastructure and security posture
- Ensure that SLAs can be consistently met and measured
- Perform deep dives on issues or tickets for analysis, investigation, and root cause analysis
- Gather current state of infrastructure and security within the organization as a baseline
- Produce and maintain documentation of standard processes, configurations and architecture
- Maintain vendor relationships associated with infrastructure and security functions
- Assist with opportunities to migrate infrastructure to cloud (preferably Azure)
- Craft disaster recovery plans and exercises for all key systems and sites
- Document all reported malfunctions and actions taken in response.
- Ensure compliance with security regulations and standards required at various locations
Qualifications Our team values individuals who apply their creativity and strategic ability to do their best work every day. The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in an IT Infrastructure Support focused role, preferably supporting numerous remote locations
- Experience in any industrial/manufacturing/mining or similar industries that have unique and challenging physical environments
- Strong infrastructure and hardware experience, particularly around networking, firewalls, servers, and end-user workstations
- Advanced experience in Office/Microsoft 365 environments
- Familiarity with SQL Server based application environments
- Capability to implement infrastructure standards across the organization, especially at site level
- Experience with general networking and security practices and implementations such as MFA, SIEM, SSO, SD-WAN
- Ability to script and automate tasks and workflows
- Decent understanding of network concepts including TCP/IP protocol stack, HTTP and TLS, DDoS detection/prevention, Intrusion detection and prevention
- Proven ability to assist with digital and cloud transformations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to independently plan a support trip to ensure all required materials, people and resources are coordinated and available
- Experience with PLC/HMI technology and equipment
- Familiarity supporting data warehouse or business intelligence reporting systems
- Experience supporting application systems, e.g. ERP systems
Location and Working Hours
- Willingness to work on site up to 4 days per week in Portage, Indiana including local travel to various work sites
- Willingness and ability to support steel mill sites in the metal industry that have unique (remote, dirty, challenging) physical environments and locations.
