Founding Sales Representative (Direct Sales)

The Mission
We are a "40-year-old startup." We have mastered the craft of production, but we have never had a dedicated sales engine—until now.
We are looking for a Founding Sales Representative to take the wheel. You won't just be "running a territory"; you will be building our entire direct sales motion from the ground up. Your goal is to expand our direct client base by securing relationships with high-value local businesses, restaurant groups, event planners, and clothing brands.
The Role
- The Hunter: This is not an account management role where you wait for the phone to ring. You will be identifying prospects (bars, restaurants, corporate events), building lists, and aggressively pursuing them via phone, email, and drop-ins.
- The Strategist: You will collaborate directly with the Owner to design marketing campaigns (like our recent St. Patrick’s Day "Gang Run"). You help dream up the offer, and then you go sell it.
- The Closer: You are responsible for the entire lifecycle: opening the door, consulting on the product, quoting the job (with margin in mind), and closing the deal.
- The Profit Guardian: You aren't paid on vanity metrics. You are paid on profit. Your job is to sell high-margin, complex work (like 7-color simulated process prints) that maximizes our shop's capabilities, not just low-margin commodities.
Who You Are
- You have "Grit": You don't need a playbook handed to you. You are comfortable figuring things out, handling rejection, and getting creative to get a "Yes."
- You understand "Margin": You know that a $10,000 sale with $9,000 in costs is a bad deal. You are motivated to sell profitable work.
- You are "Tactile": You love the product. You can learn the difference between a "soft-hand discharge print" and a "traditional plastisol print" and explain that value to a customer.
- You are a Local: You know the Atlanta market. You know who the big restaurant groups are, where the festivals happen, and who needs merchandise.
Responsibilities
- Manage Inbound Leads: Qualify and close leads generated by our newly launched website. We have partnered with a marketing agency specifically to drive SEO and AIO (Artificial Intelligence Optimization) traffic, and you will be the primary point of contact for these opportunities.
- Generate Outbound Leads: Produce 20 proactive self-generated leads per week to supplement inbound traffic.
- Cold Outreach: Conduct calls and emails to prospective clients.
- Consultative Selling: Upsell clients from basic garments to premium, higher-margin options.
- Collaboration: Work with production to ensure sold jobs are feasible and profitable.
- CRM Management: Maintain a simple Lead list to track follow-ups and pipeline.
Job Requirements (Must Haves)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of full-cycle sales experience (prospecting to closing).
- Cold Outreach: Demonstrated history of generating leads via cold calls and emails (not just managing inbound leads).
- Tech Stack: Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar) and Google Workspace.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills—you must be able to write professional emails and speak confidently with business owners.
- Logistics: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local client meetings.
- Bonus: Prior experience in the printing, apparel, or promotional products industry.
The Pay Structure
- Base Salary: $35,000 - $40,000 annually (based on experience).
- Commission: 20% Uncapped Commission on Gross Profit for every deal you bring in.
