Lead Stainless Steel Welder

We are seeking a dedicated Lead Stainless Steel Welder to join our dynamic team on a unique 9 days on, 5 days off rotating schedule. As the Lead Welder, you will oversee welding operations, including metal finishing, TIG, and MIG welding processes. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the team delivers high-quality, sanitary welds while providing leadership and direction to a skilled team of welders. You will play a pivotal role in meeting production goals while exceeding customer expectations.

Job Responsibilities 

• Responsible for meeting weekly personal and team production goals to ensure on-time, high quality project completion. 
• Conduct daily start-up meetings.
• Complete paperwork and inspect orders before signing off that work is complete, and standards were met.
• Monitor performance of team members and actively assist with training of team members.
• First point of contact for employee questions and concerns.
• Maintain accurate tool set and work area for team.
• Read measurements to weld assemblies together based on drawings using a variety of measuring devices.
• Set up and adjust welding equipment to perform high quality welds for the specific application.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
• Ensure all team members meet safety requirements, company polices and quality standards in the shop.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience welding. 
• Ability to perform basic shop math functions.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team. 
• Ability to problem solve and give direction.
• Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa, or a visa sponsored by a third-party. 

Preferred

• 7 years’ experience as a welder.
• Previous lead experience.
• Experience with sanitary equipment fabrication.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• One- or two-year welding diploma from technical college or relevant welding experience.
• Knowledge of relative safety standards.
