Conventional Lathe Operator :

  • Operate confidently, large Conventional lathes w / 36” Swing and 18 FT beds.
  • Operate fork lift and rig large heavy parts safely and effectively.
  • Must be able to adjust and true 4 jaw chucks and large steady rests.
  • Be familiar with speeds and feeds for large turning of materials such as Stainless steel, Copper alloys, Aluminum and Titanium to achieve best balance of speed and tool life.
  • Be able to read ASME Y14.5-2009 dimensioned drawings and interpret GD&T callouts and hold reasonable tight tolerances.
  • Reasonable competency of shop math will be required.
  • CNC VTL Lathe machine experience a plus but not required.
  • CAD Experience a plus but not required.
