Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Asset Recovery Supervisor, the Asset Recovery Representative will perform collection activities for delinquent loan accounts to reolsve delinquent status and minimize loss and enhance loss recovery.
The Asset Recovery Representative will be responsible for the following:
- Initiates collection activity by contacting members via telephone, written correspondence, e-mail and fax on past due accounts.
- Ensures follow-up calls are made at appropriate intervals throughout the month.
- Ensures loan agreements are complete and accurate according to policy for the purpose of collection workouts, extensions, collection agency forwarding and charge off recoveries.
- Performs other collection tasks including skip tracing, collecting on returned checks and resolving account disputes.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in all member interactions and ensures timely resolution of member inquiries.
- Provides status reports when requested on the following: negative share accounts, potential credit card charge-offs and loan extensions.
- Maintains knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act and other applicable Federal and State regulations; performs all work in compliance with these regulations.
Maintains a flexible schedule to meet business needs which includes some evening and week-end work. Department hours are 8:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. shift may vary.
During inclement weather, local overnight stays may be required if you are not able to work from home.The pay range for this position is $16-$20/hr. and is based on experience.
Qualifications
This position requires a High School diploma or equivalent and one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Auto collections experience preferred.
