The role you’ll contribute:
The Security Officer provide security at specific locations, responds to security issues, provides access assistance as requested, reports suspicious circumstances and emergencies, and completes other duties as assigned. Responsible for protection of designated areas to ensure the safety of the public, patients, employees, and property of AdventHealth
The value you will bring to the team:
- Maintains appropriate communication with Supervisors, fellow Security Officers, and Security Operations Center to report irregularities from department/organization policy and to obtain further information and instructions.
- Provides initial direction and support as needed in emergency situations. Performs facility lockdown as dictated, and screens visitors and employees seeking entry after hours
- Documents all crimes, incidents and safety-related irregularities per department policy and procedure. Exhibits good judgment during critical situations and always maintains a professional and authoritative demeanor.
- Assesses situations with consideration for age of individuals involved. Gathers information pertaining to incidents such as thefts, accidents, etc., and accurately completes appropriate documents in the correct format
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- High School diploma of equivalent.
- Driver's License
- International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Training certification or equivalent certification within six months of hire
