What are the responsibilities and job description for the Emergency Medical Services Instructor position at Advocate Aurora Health?
Under the direct supervision of the nursing director of emergency services, works to establish and enhance educational training for prehospital emergency care personnel. Works with providers and affiliate health care personnel to establish advanced patient care education and delivery systems.
Plans, develops and facilitates Emergency Medical Services education. Provides instruction through a variety of methods, using adult learning principles.
Evaluates, updates and revises programs.
Collects QA, data, statistics and completes reports as needed.
Collects and submits attendance records to the Emergency Medical Services coordinator.
Scheduled HoursNo assigned hours - as needed to do training classes primarily in the evenings Monday - Friday. Requires at least 24 hours every 6 week schedule cycle.
Licenses & Certifications
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic license issued by the state of Wisconsin, or
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic Intravenous license issued by the state of Wisconsin, or
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Intermediate license issued by the state of Wisconsin, or
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Paramedic license issued by the state in which the team member practices..
Degrees
High School Graduate.
Required Functional Experience
Typically requires 2 years of experience in pre-hospital emergency care.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Basic computer skills and ability to work with Electronic Health Record (EHR).Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients and their families.Must maintain skill and recertification as required by regulation and organization.Ability to effectively manage time and priorities.High level of attention to detail.
