Reporting directly to the EHS Manager, the EHS Advisor is responsible for ensuring his/her team actively promotes a health, safety and environmental culture to all levels of employees with the policies and procedures of Aecon’s Health, Safety and Environmental Manual.
We have an exciting opportunity for 2 EHS Advisors to support our TVA Watts Bar Unit 1 Outage on day shift and night shift! Per diem pay along with mobilization/demobilization pay included.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, review, and approval of required Safety documentation
- Promote, educate, and reinforce Company Safety Policies and Regulatory Standards
- Train project staff in the requirements of conventional safety procedures.
- Track and report safety-related statistics, manage Return to Work, Modified duties cases at the field level
- Manage safety documentation and statistics for monthly reports
- Complete and document EHS field inspections, observations, and incident investigation reports as required.
- Ensures proper case management for any work-related injuries or illnesses
- Support field activities
Required Knowledge and Experience
- A designation such as OSHA 510 or OSHA 511
- Minimum 5 years of senior experience in Health and Safety within the nuclear construction industry.
- Relevant Post-Secondary education or equivalent experience in the Health and Safety field.
- A Team Player that accepts and can manage change regularly.
- Demonstrated Leadership abilities with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sub-contractors’ safety performance
- Must be comfortable working in Radiological Work Areas
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, etc.
