What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fall Intern: Housing Center position at AEI?
Overview
The American Enterprise Institute’s Housing Center seeks an intern to support the research of Senior Fellows Edward J. Pinto and Tobias Peter on domestic housing, historical and current mortgage lending policies, and financial policy reform.
Primary assignments will include assisting with maintaining the center’s various indexes and large databases; supporting research through data management, retrieval, and analysis; editing and contributing to scholarly papers, articles, and op-eds; creating and formatting charts and tables, graphic displays, and presentations; and performing other general Housing Center tasks.
The ideal candidate will be able to multitask, have experience using Excel and Stata (or other statistical software), have succinct writing skills, and be comfortable working independently. Experience in data cleaning and analysis and knowledge of ArcGIS, Python, R, Java, and SAS is preferred but not required.
There will be two start dates for the fall program: September 10 and September 24. While the AEI Internship Program and all related programming will take place in-person in Washington, DC this summer, virtual interns may be accepted on a case by case basis.
