Job Title: Lab Technician
Location: Golden Valley, MN
Duration: 12 months will be extended.
Shift: Tues-Fri, 7 am - 5 pm
Position Overview :
This split role involves working in both the SCIP (Sample Coordinating, Intake & Processing) and Fibers labs. The SCIP lab handles sample preparation-processing, labeling, aliquoting, and storage-to ensure accurate testing.
The Fibers lab focuses on digestion and extraction of food samples for analysis using HPLC and LECO Protein Analyzer systems. (Steel toe shoes required for SCIP work.)
Key Responsibilities:
Process and label samples using grinding mills, blenders, and liquid nitrogen.
Record data in LIMS and maintain organized sample flow.
Perform fiber digestion and testing for total fiber content.
Prepare and ship samples for third-party testing.
Follow GMP, OSHA, and ISO safety standards.
Qualifications:
Strong attention to detail, multitasking, teamwork, and communication skills.
Able to lift 40 lbs and stand 5-6 hours daily while wearing PPE.
Experience with LIMS and Microsoft Office preferred.
Education:
AS/BS in food science, microbiology, biology, or related field.
Entry level role for recent graduates.
1 years lab experience (preferred).
