Feed Mill Supervisor

AFCO Mill operates one of the region’s premier feed mills in Spokane Valley, WA. Our mill manufactures a variety of product lines including LMF Horse Feeds, Palouse Brand, Earth First Poultry Feed, Aslin-Finch Feeds, Backyard Bistro and Barnyard Bistro. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Train employees to further enhance and develop their skills
- Coordinate daily production runs and staff scheduling
- Responsible for opening and/or closing of facilities
- Manufacture and inspect feed-related products
- Bag animal feed in a fast-paced production environment
- Identify all ingredients on recipe cards to correctly blend them for each different type of feed and label them
- Inspect and test grains for insects and report any issues
- Specialize in grinding and mixing products
- Check-in trucks and verify their weight ticket and bill of lading
- Safely load & unload trucks in a timely manner. Identify correct bins to unload product into and verify documentation.
- Complete receiving reports
- Measure and monitor bins
- Safely use hand tools, power tools, forklifts and delivery vehicles
- Safely operate a hammer mill, auger, and grinder
- Assist in the regular maintenance of equipment and premises
- Maintain a safe and clean working area
- Exhibit an ability to get along with others
- Practice punctual and reliable attendance
- Follow written and verbal instructions
- Other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment
- Possess a valid driver license and maintain a safe driving record
- Proven track record of being safe, dependable and reliable
- Ability to follow directions
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push/pull up to 50 pounds (occasionally up to 80 pounds with assistance)
- Must be able to frequently bend, squat, kneel, and occasionally climb/balance and lift from high/low positions
- Prolonged periods of standing working on a bagging line
- Climb ladders for the purpose of performing routine maintenance & housekeeping
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong mechanical experience
- Experience in grain handling and FDA regulations
- Experience safely operating pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.
SCHEDULE
This is a full time, 40 hours per week position. The mill runs on 4, 10-hour shifts. This position is on swing-shift, 2:00 pm – 12:00 am, typically Monday – Thursday. Must be available to work weekends as needed.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
