Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Electrical Inspector located in San Jose, CA. The Electrical Inspector will conduct inspections of electrical installations to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations. Responsibilities include reviewing electrical plans, evaluating materials and workmanship, identifying potential safety hazards, and preparing detailed inspection reports. The role also involves providing guidance on corrective actions when necessary and ensuring that construction projects meet quality and safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Electricity and Electrical Engineering principles
- Experience in Electrical Safety and Code Enforcement
- Skills in Quality Control with an eye for detail
- Familiarity with local, state, and national electrical codes and standards
- Relevant certifications or licenses as an Electrical Inspector or in a similar discipline
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills for working with contractors and clients
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred
Training & Experience
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with substation construction, including:
- Switchgear
- Grounding Grids
- SCADA systems
- Bus bar installation
- Transformers
- Panel board installation
- Reading and interpreting electrical line diagrams
Licenses / Certifications (Preferred, Not Required)
- California C-10 Contractor License
- ICC E2 Certification
- Associate’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
