We're inviting an enthusiastic and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team at Western Mass Periodontics on a temporary or permanent basis. This position offers the opportunity to work in two of our well-regarded locations in Great Barrington and Pittsfield, MA. As a key member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to contribute significantly to patient care in a specialized periodontic setting, educating, and providing top-notch treatment, and assisting with diagnostic and preventive care. Location Details:

• Tuesday Location: Western Mass Periodontics, 271 Main Street, Great Barrington, MA 01230
• Wednesday - Friday Location: Western Mass Periodontics & Implant Specialists, 435 South Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201
• Highly Rated Practices: Both locations boast exceptional patient care with a strong focus on periodontal and implant treatments
• Modern Facilities: Equipped with state-of-the-art dental technology in welcoming and professional environments

Schedule:

• 4 days per week: Tuesday to Friday: 8AM - 4PM
• Tuesday: Great Barrington location
• Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: Pittsfield location

Your Role & Responsibilities:

• Welcome and seat patients cheerfully
• Prepare and set up treatment rooms for hygiene procedures
• Update patients' health history and provide oral hygiene education
• Perform scaling, root planing, and fluoride application
• Identify periodontal and restorative issues; facilitate dentist's treatment recommendations
• Conduct head, neck, and oral cancer exams
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and preventive measures
• Schedule appropriate follow-up appointments
• Maintain a clean and organized dental lab
• Adhere to safety and OSHA guidelines as well as office standards
• Not responsible for capturing and interpreting x-rays

Requirements:

• Associate degree or higher from an ADA-accredited dental hygiene program
• MA state dental hygiene license
• CPR certification
• 1-year dental experience, preferred
• Certification in anesthesia, preferred
• Proficiency with scaling and root planing (SRP), preferred
