Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Crane Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heaving equipment and possess strong mechanical knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Read and understand work orders and fill out correctly.
- Load and unload trucks both in warehouse and at port (as necessary) using tow motor and overhead crane.
- Effectively use all tools associated with performing duties including reading tape measures, calipers, etc.
- Operate overhead and wall cranes utilizing pendant and remote controls in a safe and efficient manner.
- Read and understand all paperwork including Mill Bills of Lading and company work orders.
- Load and unload incoming trucks using chains, plate hooks and magnets.
- Inspect and color code all incoming loads for inventory accuracy.
- Pick and package orders as necessary.
- Perform daily safety checks on cranes and forklift for lifting equipment used on cranes and forklift.
- Operate all equipment needed in workstation.
- Work safely and adhere to safety rules and procedures at all times.
- Miscellaneous duties as necessary.
- Must have one year of warehouse experience.
- Crane operator experience preferred.
- Ability to transport material, parts or equipment as directed.
- Must us considerable skill and care in picking up, moving and accurately positioning loads to avoid excessive swinging of bulky, large or irregular shaped loads.
- Ability to stand/walk on concrete surface 90% of work shift in adverse climate conditions.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs., as necessary.
This position has two shifts available. Day Shift and Night Shift. However, the night shift position will start out on days and then move to night shift at an unspecified time.
- Must be able to work day shift to start and then transition to night shift.
- Warehouse experience is required.
- Bending and stooping required approximately 50% of work day.
- Forklift and tow motor experience a plus.
