SUMMARY
The USACID is a direct reporting unit (DRU) reporting to the Under Secretary of the Army, tasked to provide a combined, interactive Army law enforcement (LE) management system, responsible for bringing all aspects of LE reporting under one umbrella. The following Army LE organizations are members of the LE community and stakeholders of the LE management system: United States Army Criminal Investigation Division (USACID): USACID is the Army's primary investigative law enforcement agency headquartered at Quantico, Virginia. The organization consists of multiple units located throughout the world conducting investigations into felony crimes. The Deputy Chief of Staff for Information Management/G6 (DCSIM) is the directorate within USACID responsible for all Information Technology (IT).
The Systems Administrator will join a software development team supporting the DOD customer. He / she will administer, configure, back-up and maintain the hardware and systems required to keep the current development environment available for use. This position will also recommend and develop new solutions to replace older products and position technology for future uses. The candidate will be part of migrating on-premise servers to a Azure cloud environment, which relies on Microsoft to include Windows Server, SharePoint, SQL Server, and .NET
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows servers, including web servers, DB servers, and network servers in support of business processing requirements.
- Maintaining and troubleshooting a development environment that includes development tools like Microsoft DevOps, GITLab DevSecOps, Visual Studio and SQL Server management.
- Develops and promotes standard operating procedures.
- Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
- Schedules installations, upgrades, and patches and maintains them in accordance with established DOD IT policies and security guidelines.
- Familiar with DOD policy and maintaining system compliance with IAVAs. Ability to track IAVAs and corresponding KBs (if applicable) and affected servers.
- Familiar (experience preferred) with tracking and applying DISA STIGs and entering findings in a POA&M when necessary.
- Monitors and performs troubleshooting of event logs.
- Ensures data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
- Maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Certifications
- Security Certification required.
- MCSA or MCSE Certification in Windows Server OR Azure-Administrator Certification.
Education, Background, and Years of Experience
- 3 years of experience.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills
- Experience with setup and monitoring of Backup Solutions.
- Experience with virtualization, VMWare and Hyper-V.
- Experience with maintaining software development environments.
- This position can be client-facing so superior oral and written skills are required.
Preferred Skills
- Self-motivation and strong organizational skills.
