- SUMMARY
Possess a working knowledge of systems administration technologies, notably Linux operating systems, as well as networking protocols, topologies, and security architectures.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Monitor system resources for performance issues and identify / resolve bottleneck issues.
- Perform routine maintenance, including patch management, updates, and backups to ensure system integrity and data recovery.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to maintain secure and efficient operations.
- Configure and troubleshoot networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NFS, FTP, SSH, HTTP/HTTPS) to ensure reliable connectivity and data transfer.
- Collaborate with network engineers to integrate Linux systems with broader network infrastructure.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards by configuring systems and maintaining audit trails.
- Respond to security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective measures.
- Mentor junior administrators and share expertise in Linux systems, networking, and security best practices.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and network topologies for operational continuity.
Required Certifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Business, Management, or related discipline from an accredited institution
- 10 or more years of experience in Bachelor's degree discipline.

- Experience with the administration of information systems.
